SmartSump
TripleSafeIf you have water in your crawl space, you will need to install a sump pump to remove it before you do any other work. The sump pump is the final mechanism to remove water from your crawl space. The sump pump is the heart of the system and if it stops for any reason, your sump pump system will fail. It’s terrible when a crawl space is flooded despite all the money spent to dry it up! If you need a sump pump to keep your crawl space dry, be sure it's one you can count on.
After years of crawl space waterproofing, we’ve heard it all. Despite any stories we’ve heard about folks getting flooded because their sump pump was on the blink again, we know firsthand that today's sump equipment is better than ever. However, the inferior products are still everywhere and struggling to survive. If you install a plastic sump pump, use a do-it-yourself kit or have a plumber install your sump pump, you’re likely to use the wrong equipment. Before long, you may be the one telling tales of woe about your pump failing, causing your crawl space to flood! We only use the best sump systems available to ensure the level of protection you want is met. For example, the SmartSump crawl space sump pump system uses a high quality, 1/3hp sump pump made from cast iron with an automatic float switch, all in a specially designed sump liner with an air-tight lid, floor drain and alarm.

A sump pump system is more than a simple pump. Along with the sump pump, there are many other components all working together to keep your below-grade space dry all the time.
The Sump LinerYou don't want your pump to clog in a muddy hole in the floor. And you don't want it in a 5-gallon bucket that doesn't hold a lot of water and will cause the pump to "short cycle" (go on and off very quickly). Instead, you should have a sturdy liner or housing for your sump pump.
No pump manufacturer gives a lifetime warranty on their pumps – and there is a good reason why. A lifetime warranty doesn't make a pump better. Some irresponsible contractors will tell you there is a lifetime warranty (or many years) on their pump – "free replacements forever" – to seduce you to buy their whole solution. This is irresponsible. Ask yourself, "How do I know when to call to get my free replacement?" The answer is when the pump has failed and your crawl space or basement is flooded.
Air-Tight Sump Lid with a Floor DrainThe sump should have an air-tight lid to prevent water from evaporating out of the sump hole into your crawl space, stop debris from falling in that can clog the pump or switch, quiet the system and prevent radon from rising up into the crawl space as well. It can also make the installation look good, too! Instead of a necessary evil in your home, you have a thoughtfully engineered and highly functional system.
If you have a plumbing leak and the water leaks down into the crawl space, you'll want to use your sump to drain the water away. A sump lid with a floor drain is the answer -- and adding an alarm to warn you that the sump is taking water through the floor drain makes the ultimate sump pump system, especially in a crawl space where you might not otherwise notice a leak for a while.
A Stand for the Pump and a Check ValveThe CleanPump Stand elevates the pump off the bottom of the sump liner, allowing any silt or sediment that washes into the liner to settle to the bottom without clogging or otherwise hurting the effectiveness of the pump. It also keeps the check valve and discharge pipe clean.
Pump AlarmsWithout some kind of monitoring, you won't know that your sump pump has failed and you were in danger of being flooded. This is why all our sump systems come with a battery-powered alarm that automatically sounds off when the water reaches a level above the point where the pump(s) should normally turn on.
There are some common nightmare situations we can help you avoid: What if my pump fails? What if the power goes out? We can help create a custom solution for your crawl space or basement that will take these things into account:
